삼성전자가 프리미엄 태블릿 신제품 '갤럭시 탭S6'를 공개했다.

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 10.5형 슈퍼 아몰레드 디스플레이를 탑재했으며, 한층 업그레이드된 ‘S펜’과 삼성 노트로 태블릿 사용성 극대화, 듀얼 카메라와 온 스크린 지문인식 지원으로 전에 없던 편리한 사용성을 지원하는 것이 특징이다.

삼성전자 IM부문장 고동진 사장은 "오늘날 소비자들은 업무나 학습 같은 생산적인 활동과 창의적인 활동 모두 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 제품을 찾는다"며 "혁신 기능을 탑재한 갤럭시 탭 S6는 사용자들이 기대하는 것 이상의 모바일 경험을 가능하게 할 것"이라고 말했다.

□ 한층 업그레이드된 ‘S펜’, 삼성 노트로 태블릿 사용성 극대화

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 'S펜'의 움직임을 인식해 원격으로 태블릿을 제어할 수 있는 'S펜 에어 액션(S Pen Air actions)'을 처음으로 지원한다.

사용자가 태블릿을 손에 들고 있지 않아도 'S펜'으로 사진이나 영상을 촬영할 수 있으며, 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 제어도 가능하다.

또한, 'S펜'으로 작성한 손글씨를 손쉽게 텍스트로 변환할 수 있으며, 마이크로소프트 워드를 포함한 다양한 파일 형식으로 변환이 가능해 메모의 편집, 저장, 공유가 보다 편리해졌다.

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 노트 투명도 조절 기능을 새롭게 탑재, 콘텐츠를 감상하면서도 팝업창 또는 전체화면으로 삼성 노트를 띄워 화면 전환없이 콘텐츠를 감상하면서 노트 필기를 동시에 할 수 있다.

□ 듀얼 카메라, 온 스크린 지문 인식, 삼성 덱스 지원으로 편리성 강화

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 삼성 태블릿 최초로 후면 1300만 화소와 5백만 화소의 듀얼 카메라를 탑재했으며, 5백만 화소의 초광각 카메라는 사람의 시야각과 유사한 123도 광각으로 사진을 찍을 수 있어 눈에 보이는 그대로처럼 촬영 가능하다.

또한 인공지능(AI) 기반 인텔리전트 기능인 NPU(Neural Processing Unit)를 탑재해 촬영 장면을 인식하고 분석해 각 장면에 가장 적합한 설정을 지원, 전문가 수준의 사진을 찍을 수 있게 도와준다.

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 삼성 태블릿 최초로 온 스크린 지문 인식을 적용해 보다 빠르고 편리하게 잠금 해제가 가능하며, '갤럭시 탭 S6'를 북 커버 키보드와 연결하거나, 퀵 패널에서 '삼성 덱스'를 터치하면 '삼성 덱스'를 실행할 수 있다.

□ 16:10 화면비, AKG 쿼드 스피커로 즐기는 향상된 엔터테인먼트 경험

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 16:10 화면비의 10.5형 슈퍼 아몰레드 디스플레이와 하만의 프리미엄 오디오 전문 브랜드 'AKG'의 음향 기술·돌비 애트모스(Dolby Atmos®)로 완성한 4개의 스피커를 탑재해 향상된 엔터테인먼트 경험을 제공한다.

또한 7nm 옥타코어 AP와 모바일 게임 엔진 플랫폼인 '유니티(Unity)', '언리얼 엔진(Unreal Engine)'을 탑재, 게이밍 시 그래픽과 사운드를 최적화해 더욱 몰입감 있는 게임을 즐길 수 있다.

이밖에도 삼성의 보안 플랫폼인 '녹스(Knox)'로 강력한 보안성을 제공하며, IoT 기기를 손쉽게 제어할 수 있는 '스마트 싱스'와 지능형 어시스턴트 '빅스비(Bixby)'로 다양한 IoT 제품을 연결하고 손쉽게 제어가 가능하다.

'갤럭시 탭 S6'는 마운틴 그레이, 클라우드 블루, 로즈 블러시 3종으로 8월 말부터 글로벌 시장에서 순차적으로 출시될 예정이다.
